Pastor Cindy Holda, Wedding Officiant

Dear Bride & Groom,

Congratulations on  your engagement!  Twenty-two years ago I stood right where you are today – preparing for my own wedding ceremony and a lifetime with the one I love.  I know that you have many decisions to make, many things to purchase and prepare, and a lot of nerves, uncertainty and fears about how your special day will turn out.  One thing I don’t want you to have to worry about is your officiant.

The day I got married I had no idea what my officiant was going to say or do.  We spent our whole rehearsal time lining people up and marching down the aisle.  I grew up in a main-line Christian denomination and it was assumed that my husband and I knew the routine.  During our ceremony, when the officiant told my husband he could kiss his bride, we didn’t expect the kiss at that moment of the ceremony and we ended up with a short kiss that shocked us both (and our photographer too!).   My days of daydreaming about my husband taking me in his arms and kissing me passionately (kind of sounds like a romance novel, eh?) had just been squashed by an officiant who failed to mention that the kiss was mid-service.  I never want that to happen to another Bride and Groom again!

Despite the “kiss” surprise, my husband and I have celebrated twenty years of marriage and he still sweeps me off of my feet (well, not literally…but you get the picture).  Our marriage was built on a strong foundation of Godly principles, and I believe that this foundation is what has carried us through the years.  We were given excellent tools early on in our engagement and have relied on God’s provision to see our marriage through.  It is my hope that every couple that I lead through a marriage covenant ceremony would have that same foundation.

First and foremost I am a Pastor, and it’s my desire to share God’s love and encouragement with each couple who choose me to officiate.  My husband and I co-pastor a local church and I am licensed through, and held accountable by, our church to serve in ministry.  We have served in this role since 2003 and have been involved in ministry since 1988.

It is my hope that you would take a look at all the information on this site and then consider me as your Wedding Officiant.  Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me and please feel free to contact me with any questions or date inquiries you may have.

God bless you on your wedding endeavors!
